This series engaged with the original character of Pinocchio as depicted in Carlo Collodi’s 1883 novel.
I interprets Pinocchio as a liminal figure— neither fully human nor entirely wooden, but existing in a state of transition and transformation. This perspective challenges the moralistic core of the novel, which frames becoming a „real boy“ as the ultimate goal. I question the significance of this „realness“ and emphasizes ideas of self-determination and bodily, even sexual, autonomy, positioning these in  contrast to the disciplining forces of a normative society.
